New Sofritas Bowl from Sunshine Seasons

A much needed vegan addition has made it’s way to Sunshine Seasons in EPCOT. Earlier this year we completely lost a vegan menu item at this restaurant, so I was excited to see they had added a new option onto the menu this summer.

Sunshine Seasons is a quick service restaurant located in the Land Pavilion near Soarin’ and Living with the Land. Right now they really only serve hot food during lunch, offering grab and go options for breakfast and after 4pm. This means if you want to try this bowl you will need to plan to do so during lunch only.

The new Plant-based Sofritas Bowl features cubes of crispy tofu, cilantro-lime rice, black beans, onions, peppers, pico de gallo, and vegan feta. This bowl is a large portion and will definitely keep you full during your day at EPCOT.

There was tons of the vegan cheese on it making the bowl very creamy. There was something that had some heat to it, which I believe was the pico as I saw chunks of jalapeno in it. The tofu was very crispy and didn’t have a unique flavor to it, but I enjoyed the fact that there was a ton of it. Mixing everything together was the way to go with this one so you get the creamy vegan cheese and flavors from everything else. I did end up adding some hot sauce to mine, so if you’re like me and want some more heat be sure to grab a packet.

This is a bowl I would eat again. I love to see an option that isn’t just relying on fake meat and is a unique meal. They did build this as I ordered it, so if you are not interested in any of the ingredients you can let them know to leave it off your bowl.

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!
