Over at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa you can find a plethora of dining options. The quick service restaurant here is Gasparilla Island Grill, which you can visit for all three meal times and snacks late into the night as well.

Gasparilla Island Grill recently changed their vegan breakfast option and the plant-based dessert they offer. The new breakfast here is the Plant-based Breakfast Wrap. This new wrap features a spinach tortilla filled with tofu scramble, spinach, tomato butter, onion, and tomatoes. It also comes with a side of potato barrels.

This new wrap was very tasty; the tomato butter seemed to be mixed throughout the scramble and was the same that is offered at the Grand Floridian Cafe during brunch. I was so happy to see them bringing in a tofu scramble rather than the vegan egg. It’s nice to have a variety of options when it comes to a vegan breakfast scramble.

The tots were super crispy and I ended up shoving them into the wrap to offer more variety of textures. I really appreciate that this option does not have any vegan meat alternatives and is just a simple classic style vegan scramble.

Additionally for breakfast you can do a Choose-Your-Own Parfait with plant-based bases of acai, overnight oats, and oatmeal. This isn’t a new option but we did decide to give it a try while here. We opted for the acai base with some fresh fruit and walnuts as the granola contained honey. This was a nice option for a hot day, I think the overnight oats would be a great pick too.

The new Coconut-Raspberry Cake has replaced the previous Coconut-Chocolate Cake. This cake is coconut flavored with loads of raspberry buttercream and a raspberry jam of some sort.

The flavors in this were great, but it was way too sweet for me. I would definitely have struggled to eat much of this if I hadn’t been sharing it. The cake texture was more like a bread or dense cookie than cake, but again, flavor-wise it was nice.

Another not new item is the Double Chocolate Chip Muffin. This is offered all day long and it was absolutely delightful. I will be picking this up again to enjoy with a coffee here next time I’m passing through the Grand Floridian. The muffin was moist and filled with chocolate chips. I really enjoyed the crumble on top which reminded me of a coffee cake.

So whether you’re staying at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort or somewhere else at Walt Disney World, I recommend stopping in for breakfast on your way to Magic Kingdom to get some tofu and a muffin!
